10/10/2011 - Leasowes,Shropshire (£35k) -We have recently completed the below extension working for Mears on behalf of the Shropsire Council. It consists of a new shower room/utility, reception, with a turned staircase leading to a new bedroom. This is a high spec build and all involved must be congratulated on the high standards of finishing achieved, Well done Lads, fantastic job.

Plans for 2012 - As part of Jones and Hamptons commitment to sustainability, we have decided to develop 2 eco-friendly (and fuel bill friendly!) properties Childs Ercall just north of Telford.

The 2 proposed properties are on an idyllic site in the centre of the village,These houses will be designed to high environmental standards reducing the need for costly carbon energy solutions.

These houses are being developed to test the feasibility of developing Low Energy Consumption houses, key to the future of our housing requirements and energy needs. Not only do they have a massively reduced cost in energy bills but also produce power to sell back to energy providers at a profit, these houses should even achieve a profit on ever rising fuel bills!

Natural materials are to be used to ensure low embodied energy within the build, Insulation using natural resources such as wool coupled with glass designed to work with the environment to provide heat in the winter and cool in the summer. This will reduce the requirement for the usual traditional methods of heating and energy supplies that are becoming ever increasingly expensive to use.

Air source heat pumps in conjunction with solar thermal will provide a low energy heating solutions in addition low energy lighting will be used to reduce electricity requirements.

Solar Power has become a great investment opportunity with the introduction of the Feed-in-tariff since April 2010; the feed-in-tariff is creating clean renewable energy on existing and new roof spaces throughout out the country which in our opinion can only be seen as a positive aspect for the country's energy requirements.

The design has been created to capture maximum solar benefit by utilising mono-pitched roofs to capture sunlight from the south, utilising solar power as much as possible for producing electricity and heating water.

At this stage these Plans are our first draft and are subject to customer input, i.e. the number of bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom positions, the provision of a garage etc. I.e. these properties could even be built to the specification of the customer!

Jones and Hampton along with our design partner Carl Huntley form Base Architecture, a leading expert in low energy consumption home designs are very excited about building the eco-friendly and bill-friendly properties and would warmly welcome any feedback or enquiries regarding these properties, if you wish to get in touch please contact Jones and Hampton on 01952 580120 where we will be to take your call and discuss your enquiry.
